Who is a booking agent?

The booking agent is an aggregator who gathers demand from farmers — collecting their information and calculating how many tractors need to be deployed. Booking agents earn a ten percent (10%) commission on whatever the tractor generates, roughly ₦7,500 per day from ₦75,000 in gross revenue.

What qualifies me to become a tractor operator or mechanic?

Mechanics must pay membership dues, attend a week-long orientation, train on repairs, possess a complete toolbox, attend meetings and complete repairs within 48 hours. Operators must be trained, licensed and union members, be supervised for a minimum of 6 months, use quality oil and filters, maintain at least 10 litres of fuel, pay for repairs within 24 hours and contact a mechanic within 24 hours of any fault.

Annual dues are: tractor owners ₦24,000, operators ₦3,000, hiring agents ₦5,000, booking agents ₦3,000 and mechanics ₦5,000. Registration requires obtaining a form (₦2,000 fee), submitting it, a two-week assessment period, and signing a compliance agreement if approved.
